Regional company PT. Malamoi Olom Wobok (MOW) was established based on the Regional Regulation of Sorong Regency Number 21 of 2008 at the initiative of Dr. Drs. Stepanus Malak, M.Si as the Regent of Sorong Regency, then made Notary Deed Number 3 dated January 5, 2009. Given the potential for gas in Sorong Regency, the Regional Company uses the gas to turn it into electricity through a Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) which works. the same as the third party (three) which is then used by PLN to serve electricity needs in the Regency and City of Sorong with an initial capacity of 2 MMSCFD in 2012 and subsequently reaching 8 MMSCFD until now in 2018.

Gas Pipeline Network Development
2019
• Conducted economic and engineering studies in the form of Feasibility Study and Front End Engineering Design for the development of pipelines to the Sorong Special Economic Zone and the Sorong Raya Industrial Zone. (On going)
• Ensure that the amount of natural gas needed for industries in the Sorong Special Economic Zone and Sorong Raya Industrial Zone is in the form of a Supply Commitment (MOU) or PJBG so that it can be used as a basis for proposing additional allocations. (Working on)
• Determine the Gas Source that will be used to determine pipeline network planning
to be built and the possibility of regasification and LNG transportation development.
• The inauguration of the Sorong Special Economic Zone will be held in September in conjunction with the groundbreaking of the Gag Nickel smelter.
2020
• Estimated construction of the gas pipeline network starts in the 4th quarter of 2020.
